Commerce Bank - Watch Pending Transactions
For about the 3rd time now, Commerce Bank has posted something in my Pending Transactions online, including taking the money out of my account, and once that item is credited back to my account (because I have returned it), they have removed it from my Pending Transactions, but not credited the money back to my account. They like to say that the transactions cancelled themselves out, but that isn't true because the money was never given back. To make matters worse, because I have contested transactions with them so many times they have since told me that I can no longer get a credit to my account, even if it is their mistake, because I have already had 3 this year...which basically means they have a right to rob me from now on and I can never get my money back. In a slumping economy where every penny counts, being robbed by your bank is the worst insult.

Commerce Bank Charges
I deposited my paycheck on a Monday night and received some cash back. I checked my account on Tuesday morning and the balance of my funds showed AVAILABLE in my account, not current or pending but available. So wrote out a few checks and Wednesday I noticed a charge of $140.00 in fees. When I called nobody could answer my question until I spoke with the branch manager who to my surprise says that even though the money shows available the money is not available to write checks on, it's only available to debit card purchases and atm withdrawals. I worked for a bank for over ten years and have never heard of availble fund showing available are not truly available. I have reported them to the banking commission and do believe the bank is trying to make money off of their customers. Beware all apparently commerce bank does not have to play by the same rules.

Commerce Bank pushing us into foreclosure instead of helping us to continuing to pay our mortgage
Commerce Bank's Foreclosure V.P. Lou Chiarlanza has been extremely vicious against us even after we caught up on our mortgage payments on our office building in Somerville New Jersey. We have been trying to re-finance our building but have found it difficult in these economic times. Commerce Bank is continually shortening out time before they will foreclose. We are not allowed to talk to anyone in the bank, we can only communicate with the bank through our attorney to the bank's attorney. At one point Commerce Bank asked us for $20,000.00 to get more time. Why are they so mean?

Gift card Rip-off
Same thing happened to me. I have two $25 gift cards with expiry dates on 10/08. I started using it last week only to find out the balance had gone down due to the $2.50 monthly maintenance fee. I called and asked about this maintenance fee and was told it's to keep my account active! What do they have to do to keep an account active? What's the use of providing an expiry date? It's to mislead you so you'd take your time using the cards while they subtlely deduct the monthly fees from them.

ILLEGAL ACTION FROM COMMERCE BANK.
I was trying to deposit 1980.00 cash deposit into bank account , after handling the cash to the teller , she claims that I give her only 1780.00,after asking her for some physical bills that I give her. She bring me different money, to proove that she is lying , I try to deposit 400.00, but I memorize the serial numbers of the bills, but before finishing the transaction, I ask for the some money , she give the different money, than the manager confess that once you put the money in the machine to be counted, you cannot has the some money, but the the some amount, which mean if the machine is wrong about counting, than you are out of luck for good. Is illegal for bank to mix the counsumer money with their money before finishing transaction of counting and printing his receipt of deposit? I'm trying to federal reserve help line, please anyone with the some situation.???

Commerce Bank
Just FYI. I work for a Commerce Bank and I think you are talking about three different banks here in your description and your comments. A lot of banks have the same name and there are a couple on the east coast. If you look at the links, that Commerce is not head quartered in Cherry, HIll, NJ. Can you let us know which Commerce you are talking about. The one that won the JD Power Award for customer service is in Cherry Hill and has a web site of commerceonline.com. There is also one in Mass that has like 12 branhes.

Commerce Bank not worth joining
Well, I have been a customer of Commerce Bank for the past year. The other day I got paid direct deposit which was $1040 after taxes and I also deposited another $2000 in the bank as well. I took some friends and a coworker to lunch and my atm card was declined. I called the bank and was told they deactivated the card because I used my atm card on at a casino atm. I was pissed. I cursed them out something terrible. Needless to say, I'm moving on and getting a new bank. Do Not get Commerce as your bank!

COMMERCE BANK GIFT CARD -SCAM !!
The same thing happened to me. I have two gift cards, one for $200 and the other for $150 only to find that $2.50 a month was being taken out for their maintenance fees. WHAT MAINTENANCE ???? I called and spoke to several supervisors and they won't refund my money. Funny, when I got the gift card, Commerce Bank's name was not listed in the greeting with mine !! WHAT A BUNCH OF SCAM ARTISTS ! HOW DARE THEY ! Where do they come off charging fees ? I'm going to file a complaint....or better yet.....I'll call the news !!

Reopened a closed account and charged late fees
I closed my account at Commerce in June 2007. I recently received a collection notice for $100. I went to the bank and their explaination was that in August they gave their customers a rebate of $4.00 which opened the account automatically which began the monthly charge for being below the minimum. Can they do that. Now they are giving the run around. I have 30 days to pay the $100 before it goes into collection and reported to the credit report. I was told go back in couple of days and speak to the bank manager after he has had a chance to look at the paperwork.

Bank closed my account after a bad check!
The bank closed my account because i deposited a check thats was bad. They told me there was a $30 charge for this action. The patriot act prevents anybody from finding information about anothers account. How am I to find out if a check is real or not? So they said I am high risk. The reps were nasty and told me no matter what my case they were not going to do anything and I would not get an account. Plus the branch manager would have to be a personal caretaker before they give me another account and I need other bank references as well. The reps put me on hold and kept transferring me all over customer service lines. I didnt even get a phone call or letter saying they closed my account. Also they didnt even mail me a refund check for the funds that was in the account. Please be careful of this bank they are careless.

Commerce Bank Gift Cards Charges
I received a Commerce Bank Gift Card of $25 for Christmas and have had so much difficulty trying to use at it any cash register(It's always declined). I finally succeeded in using it once for a $10 transaction. However, between December and today February 19, I have been charged almost $2.50 every 3 weeks. I called their customer services and the representative said the fee is for "maintainance" and cannot be refunded. This sucks! I am going to complain to the Better Business Bureau as something needs to be done to about this. $2.50 for maintenance of a gift card every few weeks or monthly seem extreme to me. They are THIEVES!

Commerce Bank charges more than any other bank to have an account with them
I started noticing that my checking account was charged $15 every month. When I asked a rep at the bank what it was for they told me it was a fee charged if i keep less than $100 in my account any day of the month. Now i pay my bills through my checking account so I don't always have $100 leftover every single day of the month. When I was told that this was not said to me when i opened the account and that it was claimed it was free checking, their answer was "they should have told you." Everyone that opened an account with them told me the same thing, it was never said to them either. Please avoid doing business with this dishonest bank. It will not be long before they will need to close some of their branches do to dishonesty and stealing.

Community commerce bank dropped the interest rate on my 5 year CD from 5.85% to 3.5%.
My brother and I both had 5 year CDs at Community Commerce Bank. The CDs were to mature in the year 2012. Community Commerce sent us letters that as of April 1, 2008, they were dropping our interest rate from 5.85% to 3.5% and we could either take it or close the account (which they could drop even further whenever they felt like it) so we closed our accounts. Obviously, in this climate, we now have $100,000 each and cannot get anywhere near the interest rate that Community Commerce had agreed to on our CDs. They screwed us each out of approx. $12000. We're speaking with lawyers for a class action suit.

Commerce Bank: A bank of thieves
After having been a customer of their "Free" banking for 4 years and with a substantial amount in my savings account, Commerce has now began charging $15 every time my checking is below $100. When I called an complained that this was not our original agreement made 4 years ago, and for them to *** the charges, the response was "tough luck lady" I signed up with a bank so I could have money in my pockets and not to be robbed of it. I am one highly pissed customer!!! Do not sign up with them they are thieves!!!

Commerce Bank
I deposited a large sum check and was told I would need to wait until it cleared. After the second day I looked online and saw that my 'available balance' included the amount of the check. My visa card allowed me to use funds and do withdraws. After three days suddenly my account was a large negative balance and when i contacted them they said they decided to put a hold on the check. When I asked how the amount was available and then not they said that the atm added it automatically. So I asked if I had some write a fraudulent check and deposit it in the atm that the next day i could use all the funds, but three days later they would catch it??? No one had an answer.

you should both take responsibility for you spending. the bank will give you your available balance .
"available" means what you have to spend. if you decided to over draw because you are not responsible enough to make sure you only spend what you have available . That is NOT the banks fault. Take some responsability for Godsake.
growup. learn how your bank works and you will never be charged a fee. Talk to your bank manager. he will explain fees and why you get them.
If you have two dollars and spend three who's fault is that.
Remember they are still a business not a charity where they keep your money safe untill you feel like using it. But if you are smart and make sure you know what you have in your account they will never get you for a fee.
i agree, i have a problem with the pending transactions, they show removed from my available balances but in truth are not, i am fighting with them right now... it really *** me off the way they are able to get away with things
